A woman found dead in Ngau Tau Kok had multiple head wounds from a hard object and her body was hidden inside a bed frame, with police hunting her non-Chinese boyfriend of about six months.

The 35-year-old local woman was discovered on Tuesday inside the hydraulic bed at her boyfriend’s flat in Hei Wah House, Lok Wah South Estate, after police and firefighters forced entry.

Her 67-year-old mother reported her missing on Monday after she failed to return home from collecting belongings from the flat following a relationship breakdown. She had told her mother she would go there early on December 28.
Acting Senior Superintendent Wong Yick-lung of the East Kowloon regional crime unit said the 200-square-foot open-plan unit had no power, was messy but showed no signs of a struggle. After reviewing CCTV and finding she never left, officers searched again and found the body concealed in the bed frame.

The woman had bruises on her limbs and body. The exact time and cause of death await an autopsy. The flat is believed to be the crime scene, but with no blood or struggle signs, police suspect cleanup. Her ID and suspected clothing were found in the building’s refuse areas.
Police are searching for her Hong Kong ID-holding non-Chinese boyfriend, believed to have fled to Southeast Asia. The motive is under investigation by the regional crime unit.
