The crime scene in Hei Wah House at Lok Wah South Estate remains cordoned off as the law enforcement officials, including the district crime squad and government laboratory officers, arrive with a dolly trolley to gather evidence.
Police are currently hunting the victim's non-Chinese boyfriend, who reportedly had a six-month relationship with her. His flat, measuring approximately 200 square feet, has no separate rooms, featuring basic furnishings such as a sofa and bed.

Upon arriving at the flat, officers noted a lack of power and a disheveled environment, with no apparent signs of struggle. Security footage confirmed that the victim, surnamed Tam, visited her boyfriend's residence but did not exit the building.
A subsequent search of the unit led to the grim discovery of her body, hidden between the mattress and the bed frame, wrapped tightly.
The body of the 35-year-old victim was found intact. Preliminary examinations by the forensic pathologist indicated multiple blunt force wounds to her head and bruises on her limbs. The time of death is estimated to be the morning of December 29, pending a further autopsy.
Reports suggested that Tam lived in Sau Mau Ping, and her relationship with her boyfriend deteriorated after dating for six months, leading to conflicts about a breakup.

On Sunday (Dec 28), she informed her family that she would be going to her boyfriend's residence to collect her belongings. Her 67-year-old mother reported her missing on Monday (Dec 29) evening after failing to contact her.
It was noted that Tam had a history of suicidal tendencies, prompting the police to classify her case as a high-risk missing person investigation.
The police and firefighters broke into the flat in the early morning of Tuesday (Dec 30) and uncovered the murder scene. Police suspected a cleanup, as no blood and struggle signs were found. They also found Tam's ID and suspected clothing in the building's hallway and garbage area.
Officers have classified the case as murder and are hunting the suspect. They also discovered the bodies of three dogs and one cat in the unit, suspected to be their pets, and are currently investigating the cause of their deaths.
