Two men were arrested for assaulting a stranger following a dispute in Ap Lei Chau in the early hours of Thursday.
Police were called at around 2am after a 36-year-old man, surnamed Chan, reported being attacked by two men following a verbal argument over trivial matters outside 8 Ap Lei Chau Drive.
Officers arrested a 44-year-old man surnamed Tse and a 51-year-old man surnamed Yau on suspicion of common assault. Both remain in custody.
The victim, who complained of a sore throat, was taken conscious to Queen Mary Hospital for treatment.
Police said the two arrested men were friends, had alcohol on their breath, and did not know the victim.
