HK Customs officials have conducted a joint validation visit with Peru's National Superintendency of Customs and Tax Administration (SUNAT) as part of efforts to expand the Authorized Economic Operator Mutual Recognition Arrangement network in South America.
The delegation led by Senior Staff Officer Simon Lee visited Lima from October 20 to 23, following a similar visit to Chile earlier in the month.
The team inspected both an existing AEO company and a new AEO applicant during the joint validation process. They subsequently met with SUNAT's International Customs Agreements Division to finalize details of the mutual recognition agreement text.
The visits aim to expedite implementation of the AEO MRA between the two administrations, facilitating trade and enhancing customs cooperation between HK and South American partners.
