Hong Kong's Chief Executive has approved a three-year extension for three judges of the Court of Final Appeal, following a recommendation from the city's top judge.
The decision affects overseas non-permanent judge William Gummow from Australia, along with local non-permanent judges Frank Stock and Patrick Chan Siu-oi.
Under Hong Kong's Court of Final Appeal Ordinance, non-permanent judges serve three-year terms, with the Chief Executive empowered to approve extensions of the same duration upon the Chief Justice's recommendation.
