The Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) expected approximately 234 arriving and departing flights between Sunday night and 6 am on Monday (July 21) as flight operations gradually resumed, involving 35,000 travelers.
The authority stated that MTR has agreed to extend the operating hours of the Airport Express services, with six additional trains running from Hong Kong International Airport to Hong Kong Station after 12.48 a.m. on Monday until 3.45 a.m. The schedule for the train running from Hong Kong Station to the airport will remain the same, with the last train departing at 12.48 am.
All 27 departure security checkpoints at the airport are fully operational, the AAHK added. Heavy passenger traffic was expected until Monday evening.

Meanwhile, dozens of stranded passengers awaiting flight updates crowded the departure hall on Sunday afternoon after a number of flights were canceled since midnight.
Some travelers arrived up to five hours early for check-in, as counters at multiple airlines were overwhelmed by passengers.
A family of three, surnamed Ho, participated in a tour group traveling to Europe. Their departure was initially scheduled for approximately 8pm, and they arrived at the airport from Yuen Long five hours before departure.
Separately, services for all overnight KMB and LWB routes will be normal.
