A woman caused a police scare in Tai Wa on Thursday afternoon after reportedly harming herself with a utility knife and then falsely claiming she had been attacked.
The incident unfolded around 5pm today at Sun Chui Estate Sun Kit House, where the woman—appearing emotionally distressed—approached security guards with bleeding arm wounds, alleging an assailant had slashed her.
Responding officers, including shield-equipped personnel, rushed to the scene before determining no attack had occurred.
A police spokesperson confirmed that initial evidence suggests the injuries were self-inflicted.
The woman, who exhibited signs of mental distress, received medical attention at a hospital.
An investigation is ongoing.
