Li says thanks to HA staff

Tycoon Li Ka-shing thanked medical workers for their work in safeguarding the health of Hong Kong citizens by sending them a gift card together with a HK$200 cash coupon.

The coupons, which can be redeemed at ParknShop outlets, were sent to 97,000 staffers of the Hospital Authority by the Li Ka Shing Foundation.

The foundation said: "It is a gift from Li Ka-shing as spring starts.

"Thank you for safeguarding the health of Hongkongers. Like any other citizen, I applaud you from the bottom of my heart," Li wrote on the card.

On a side note, the foundation's staff shared on Facebook that it was "as exciting as cash transit" to send tens of thousands of gift cards to hospitals.
