An elderly man died after fainting during a swim in Tai Wai on Saturday afternoon.
Around 5.30pm yesterday (Mar 1), witnesses reported that a 69-year-old man surnamed Ho fainted at the Hin Tin Swimming Pool.
Paramedics quickly transported Ho to the Prince of Wales Hospital for emergency treatment. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
It is understood that Ho, who had a history of high blood pressure, went swimming at the pool with his wife and daughter. He was later found struggling in the water.
Lifeguards at the scene promptly rescued him from the pool, and he was already unconscious. He received immediate first aid with the aid of an automated external defibrillator (AED) while an ambulance was called.
His cause of death is under investigation.
