About 5,500 passengers will be affected by the cancellation of 128 flights by Greater Bay Airlines in February and March.
The airline made an announcement after midnight, reiterating that the cancellations were due to delays in the delivery of new aircraft and the need for regular inspections of some of the existing aircraft.
Flight services during the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday will not be affected.
Apologizing for the inconvenience caused, Greater Bay Airlines stated that they have proactively contacted passengers to assist them with flight protection, ticket rebooking, and refunds, with all associated fees being waived. They also offered compensation for any losses incurred due to the flight cancellations on an individual basis.
For assistance, passengers may contact the airline via email at service@greaterbayairlines.com or by phone at 2319 4288.
An immediate internal review was conducted, revealing negligence in the flight scheduling process. The airline has taken prompt action to tighten the relevant approval procedures. Additional manpower has been deployed at the Customer Service Centre to expedite ticketing arrangements for affected passengers.
Furthermore, the Seoul route has been suspended due to unsatisfactory performance.
