Wong Chun-ting crowned in Croatia

Hong Kong table tennis star Wong Chun-ting was crowned champion in the men’s singles event at the WTT Feeder Varazdin in Croatia after a nailbiting win over South Korea’s An Jaehyun.

Wong was trailing behind 2-1 after the first three games and was once 5-10 down in the fourth. However, Wong reeled in five points in a row to a deuce before winning the game by 13-11 to force a decider.

In the decider, Wong managed to fend off An’s match point chances and made a comeback from 8-10, eventually taking the champion by 12-10.

Meanwhile, for the women’s doubles, Hong Kong pair Zhu Chengzhu and Lee Ho-ching settled for a silver medal after a 1-3 loss to Japan in the finals.
