That included Deputy Consul General of the United States in Hong Kong Colin Crosby, Consul General of Canada in Hong Kong Rachael Bedlington, as well as members of the foreign chambers of commerce.
The group, accompanied by the acting commissioner of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hong Kong Li Yongsheng, visited the architecture and exhibitions featuring the latest archaeological discoveries at Sanxingdui in Sichuan as well as collections of the Forbidden City in Beijing.
Li hoped the foreign consulates could join hands with the Commissioner's Office to foster cultural exchanges. He added that there are unique Chinese-Western charms in Hong Kong, and the city connects the mainland to the world's cultures.
Speaking at the same event, Secretary of Administration Eric Chan Kwok-ki said a Chinese Culture Promotion Office will be established next year to showcase China's development and achievements in facilitating cultural exchanges.
