Images show huge plumes of black smoke billowing from the warehouse located on the Deep Bay Road at around 1.09 pm.
The massive fire was upgraded to a No. 3 alarm after 11 minutes as the Fire Services Department deployed two jets and two breathing apparatus teams to fight the blaze.
It was learned that the source of water supply for firefighting was far from the scene, which increased the difficulty of dousing the blaze.
An explosion also occurred during the operation and two firemen suffered injuries to their hands. They were sent to the Tuen Mun Hospital in a stable condition.
Public members were advised to stay indoors, close their windows and doors, and stay calm if they are affected by the smoke or an unusual odor carried by the wind.
