The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced on Monday that the fees for renting six designated recreational venues under its jurisdiction to hold weddings will be increased starting on February 1 next year.
After the fare increase, the fee for the Lei Yue Mun Park Auditorium in Eastern District, an indoor venue, will be HK$3,670 for the first 4 hours, an increase of HK$500 from the current price.
The subsequent hourly charge will be HK$380, HK$55 more than the current rate.
The five outdoor venues, which include Repulse Bay Beach, Kowloon Tsai Park, Kowloon Walled City Park, Tai Po Waterfront Park, and Sai Kung Waterfront Park, will charge HK$3,490 for the first four hours, which is HK$520 more than the current price.
The subsequent hourly rate will be HK$290, HK$60 more than the current rate.
The LSCD spokesman stated that since they had opened up six selected leisure venues with distinctive characteristics for the public to rent as wedding venues, the pricing has remained unchanged since the 2016 adjustment.
The spokesman added that the department will adjust the charges to reflect the current costs of providing the services.
