The Chamber Music Society performs at the academy's concert hall on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
It is regarded as one of the leading ensembles dedicated to performing and promoting chamber music, a genre defined by its compositions for small groups of instruments, usually with one player assigned to each part.It brings together world-class musicians to showcase a diverse repertoire spanning classical masterpieces to contemporary pieces. It also engages in educational outreach to inspire future generations of music lovers.
Chamber music is generally performed in intimate settings, like small concert halls or private homes. This allows for a close and personal interaction between the musicians and their audiences, creating a unique and memorable experience.In this upcoming concert series, the Chamber Music Society will present works by esteemed composers, including Beethoven, Brahms, Dvorak, Mahler, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Schubert and Schumann.
The co-artistic directors are David Finckel on cello and Wu Han on piano.They are joined by Lun Li and Arnaud Sussmann on violin, He Sihao on cello, Tara O'Connor on flute and Matthew Lipman on viola.
