Hang Seng Index rebounds in early trading on Wednesday, Alibaba rises

The Hang Seng Index climbed in the early morning trading session on Wednesday.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index rose by 244 points, or 1 percent to 25,755 points. 

The Hang Seng Tech Index decreased by 1.3 percent to around 4,649 points.

Shares of Alibaba (9988) grew 2.3 percent after reports that founder Jack Ma Yun purchased HK$600 million worth of shares in the tech giant.
