Hang Seng Index jumps over 300 points on Wednesday

Hong Kong stocks jumped on Wednesday, tracking an overnight rally in the US market on benign inflation. 

The benchmark Hang Seng Index rose 340 points, or 1.4 percent, to 24,681 points at the close.

The market turnover was HK$304 billion.

The Hang Seng Tech Index climbed 1.3 percent to 4,740 points.

In the mainland, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index was down by 0.3 percent to 3,955 points and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Component Index fell by 1 percent to 14,779 points.
