Gansu food street blast kills 1, injures 1, forces 100-meter shop closures

An explosion at a cultural food street in Gansu province killed one person and injured another on Saturday, prompting the closure of shops along a 100-meter section.

The blast occurred at 9:25 am in a shop at the northern entrance of Yangming Lane in Lanzhou's Anning District. One victim died while another sustained minor injuries.

Workers conducted inspection and demolition work at the site on Sunday, with barriers erected and pedestrians diverted from the area. The popular food street remained closed along the affected section as investigation and cleanup efforts continued through Sunday afternoon
