A mountain landslide, which occurred on Saturday night in Luchuan county, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, due to heavy rain brought by Typhoon Wutip, has resulted in the deaths of two people by Sunday morning.

The landslide occurred in the county's Shapo township, triggering mudslides and causing damage to villages, with three people trapped, according to China Central Television.

Local government mobilized emergency response teams, firefighters, and militia forces to the scene to conduct rescue efforts overnight, and by 7:30 am Sunday morning, two people had been rescued, but were confirmed dead by on-site medical staff.
