Then project manager of Aggressive Construction Co Ltd has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter over the fatal industrial accident on Anderson Road which killed three and injured six in September 2022.
Kan Ho-kai, 35, was arrested at Richland Gardens in Kowloon Bay on Tuesday morning. He is currently remanded in custody and will later be charged with manslaughter.
Kan at that time was the project manager under Aggressive Construction – the principal contractor for the Housing Society construction site on Anderson Road in Sau Mau Ping.
Police later said they also listed a 72-year-old outsourced registered structural engineer as a wanted man.
The incident occurred on September 7, 2022, as a crane tower suddenly collapsed and crushed containers used as temporary offices in the area, killing three and injuring six others.
After an in-depth investigation, the Labour Department and the Buildings Department issued 76 court summonses to seven companies involved and eight people.
