Au Ka-wang elevated to head immigration

Au Ka-wang, the deputy director of immigration, has been appinted by Beijing as director of immigration with effect from today.

He became assistant director of immigration in 2018 and then deputy director of immigration in 2019.

Au joined the Immigration Department as an assistant immigration officer in November 1988.

The Chief Executive Carrie Lam said in a statement, Au has served for over 30 years and has extensive experience in departmental operations.
