Hong Kong racing will usher in 2026 in style with Lucky Start 2026, the Hong Kong Jockey Club’s flagship New Year’s Day celebration at Sha Tin Racecourse on January 1.

The popular New Year’s raceday promises a full programme of competitive racing, festive entertainment and reward-driven experiences designed to set the tone for a prosperous year ahead. Gates open early, with the first race scheduled for 12.30pm.

A major highlight is the Lucky Start 2026 Mega Prizes, offering a combined HK$128 million in potential rewards across New Year fixtures. The January 1 raceday alone features a HK$28 million grand jackpot, while the New Year celebrations continue on January 3 with a special Mark Six New Year Snowball. The First Dividend Prize Fund for that draw could reach an estimated HK$100 million for a single HK$10 winning unit.

Racegoers arriving early on New Year’s Day will also receive a Lucky Start Tote Bag, available to all Sha Tin and Happy Valley entrants before 3.30pm, or while stocks last — a festive keepsake designed to carry good fortune into the year ahead.
