A record 24 students from 15 schools have been named top scorers in this year’s Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination, marking the highest number since the exam was introduced.
The 14 male and 10 female students attained the top grade of 5** in six subjects, along with an “Attained” result in Citizenship and Social Development.
Among them, 11 were named “super top scorers” after also attaining 5** in the Mathematics Extended Part.
St Paul’s Co-educational College led the city with five top scorers, including three super top scorers. Queen’s College produced three top scorers, including one super top scorer.
La Salle College and Pui Ching Middle School each had one super top scorer and one top scorer.
St Paul’s College, King’s College, Ying Wa Girls’ School and Heep Yunn School each recorded one super top scorer this year.
The results also marked milestones for several schools. Po Leung Kuk Laws Foundation College in Tseung Kwan O celebrated its first super top scorer.
Sha Tin Tsung Tsin Secondary School and Hong Kong Baptist University Affiliated School Wong Kam Fai Secondary and Primary School each produced their first top scorer.
Diocesan Girls’ School had two top scorers, while Wah Yan College Hong Kong, St Mary’s Canossian College and Po Leung Kuk Tang Yuk Tien College each produced one.
