Flat fire in North Point injures two, falling window hits passer-by

A fire broke out at a flat in North Point on Tuesday evening, injuring two people, including a woman struck by a falling window.

Police received multiple reports around 9pm of a blaze at a unit on Yuet Yuen Street. About 50 residents evacuated to safety on their own, while three others who could not escape were rescued by firefighters. Firefighters deployed one jet and a breathing apparatus team, quickly extinguishing the flames.

A woman in her 20s was hit on the hand by a window that fell from height. She was conscious and taken to Eastern Hospital by ambulance. Another woman in her 60s was injured by broken glass. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
