Police arrested four people and seized drugs worth around HK$17,000 during an anti-narcotics operation in Wong Tai Sin on Monday.
Officers from the Wong Tai Sin district special duty squad raided a flat in Fu Shan Estate based on intelligence and investigation.
A 37-year-old local woman was arrested on suspicion of "managing a drug den" and "trafficking in dangerous drugs." A 35-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of "trafficking in dangerous drugs." Two other local men, aged 34 and 44, were arrested on suspicion of "taking or injecting drugs." All four are being detained for investigation.
During the operation, police seized 59 cartridges suspected to contain e-cigarette liquid mixed with "eutylone," some suspected "ice" (methamphetamine), and a batch of drug-taking paraphernalia including ice pipes, lighters and straws.
Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, the maximum penalty for drug trafficking is a HK$5 million fine and life imprisonment. Operating a drug den carries a maximum penalty of a HK$5 million fine and 15 years' imprisonment. Possession or consumption of dangerous drugs carries a maximum penalty of a HK$1 million fine and seven years' imprisonment. Police urged the public not to break the law.
