The hearse carrying posthumously promoted Senior Fireman Ho Wai-ho arrived at his former Sha Tin Fire Station on Friday morning, where colleagues paid final tributes before burial.
The Fire Services Department accorded Ho the highest honors in his funeral procession.
A specially modified fire engine served as the hearse, bearing the coffin.
Upon arrival at Sha Tin Fire Station, Director of Fire Services Andy Yeung led firefighters in lining up outside for a last salute to their fallen colleague.
The station then rang its bell in the traditional pattern—three short rings followed by one long—symbolizing Ho's official end of duty.
The procession continued to Gallant Garden in Wo Hop Shek for the interment ceremony.
