After a couple was caught red-handed trying to stuff food from a Tsuen Wan all-you-can-eat hot pot restaurant, a Mong Kok eatery wasted no time in newsjacking the incident with a video calling out greedy behavior.
The original incident reportedly took place at The Aquatic Market in Tsuen Wan Plaza on Saturday (Sep 27), where CCTV captured the duo stuffing uncooked beef, seafood, and instant noodles into an eco-bag during their meal.
The footage, which shows a staff member politely confronting the pair and requesting the return of the items, quickly went viral. In response, a buffet restaurant located at CTMA Centre recreated the scene in a humorous video.
The parody featured a man portraying the male diner using a large black plastic bag instead of an eco-bag.
Pretending to return various foods to the table, the man pulled out a slew of unrelated items—including a superhero helmet, a soccer ball, and even a rice cooker.
The video concludes with the actor reminding viewers, "Only take what you can eat. Please don’t pack food to go for hygiene reasons."

The embarrassing scene for the couple has ignited widespread criticism online, with many condemning their actions as "greedy."
One commenter expressed disbelief, stating, "Two people trying to have a meal for five."
Meanwhile, the calm staff member won praise for his professional handling of the situation.
Please don’t bring shame on Hongkongers: residents
Local residents also weighed in the discussion, where Chan, a nearby shopkeeper, described the couple's actions as “way out of line”.
"People should only take what you can eat. Please don’t bring shame on Hongkongers," she said.
Chan further expressed support for the idea of the hotpot restaurant reporting the incident to the police to deter similar behavior in the future.
Another resident, a regular at the restaurant, expressed disappointment over the couple’s actions, saying, "Dining in a buffet should be about enjoying the food on-site, not sneaking it away."
