A hit-and-run accident in Yuen Long on Tuesday evening has left a cyclist dead, with police now searching for the fleeing driver.
The incident occurred around 6pm today on Long Ping Road near the UMAH International Primary School.
A private sedan struck a male cyclist, who fell unconscious at the scene.
The vehicle then sped away without stopping.
Emergency responders arrived shortly after and rushed the victim to Pok Oi Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Authorities are currently investigating the crash and have appealed for information to locate the suspect vehicle and its driver.
Due to the accident, all lanes on Long Ping Road (toward Tin Shui Wai) near Fung Chi Road have been closed.
The Transport Department has advised drivers to avoid the area and use alternative routes, as heavy traffic is expected.
