An Air India flight bound for Delhi returned to Hong Kong International Airport on Monday due to a reported technical issue encountered mid-air.
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner flight, AI-315, departed from Hong Kong at around 1.05pm before the crew identified a possible technical malfunction.
As a precautionary measure, the aircraft made a safe return to Hong Kong and landed at 1.18pm.
Air India has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
The incident comes just days after a tragedy involving another Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner, which crashed shortly after departing from Ahmedabad airport en route to London last Thursday (Jun 12).
A total of 241 passengers and crew members on board the aircraft died, except one passenger who miraculously survived.
