A 14-year-old student from Kowloon Technical School in Sham Shui Po has been arrested for assault after a video circulated online showing him kicking a classmate and throwing him onto the ground.

Police said they received a report on Tuesday that a 13-year-old student was beaten by a classmate at school last Friday and sustained an injury to his waist. The boy later sought medical treatment at Caritas Medical Centre and remained in a stable condition.
It is understood that the incident occurred around noon last Friday and both are secondary two students of the school.
After an investigation, police arrested the 14-year-old student for assault occasioning actual bodily harm in Sham Shui Po around 9 pm on Tuesday.
The 14-year-old was remanded in custody.
The Education Bureau said it attached great concern to the incident and added that the school has reported it to the police and has already initiated crisis management procedures to handle the case.
The bureau said it will remain in close contact with the school and provide any necessary support.
The bureau also stressed that it exercises zero tolerance towards any forms of bullying and will follow each case in a serious manner.
