Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang Jen-Hsun was spotted at a hot pot restaurant in the Nanshan district of Shenzhen on Tuesday, as part of his China tour.
According to Chinese media reports, Huang and six friends enjoyed a Chaoshan-style fresh beef hotpot at the Chinese chain restaurant Baheli on Tuesday night, after his public appearance in a Shanghai market.
The restaurant clerk on duty said that a customer had reserved a private room in advance for 6 pm that day. Upon arrival, Huang and his friends did not express any special requests.
"They were all very laid back and indistinguishable from ordinary customers," but Huang's signature hairstyle and black jacket allowed the restaurant staff to recognize him as a significant figure in the global technology industry. "During the meal, we didn't want to disturb him."
Huang and his friends arrived at their reserved private room around 7pm that evening. Their meal lasted approximately 1.5 hours, with the total bill amounting to about 800 yuan(HK$897), according to staff at the restaurant.
After the dinner, Huang came downstairs to interact with the crowd, taking photos and signing autographs.
During this time, he repeatedly praised the "fresh and delicious beef in Shenzhen" and said he would have the opportunity to come to Shenzhen again to eat beef hot pot.
