Shanghai Disneyland halts toy sales amid scalper price surge

Shanghai Disney Resort has suspended in-store sales of its new toy series, after reports of scalpers reselling toys priced originally above 100 yuan (HK$109) to nearly 500 yuan.

Mainland media reports that the newly released summer collection, the "2025 Duffy and Friends Summer Ocean Party Series," sold out online instantly upon launch. 

To fetch those toys in offline stores, some scalpers claimed they waited in line for 14 hours, the report said.

According to an announcement on the resort's official app, starting Friday, the toy series will no longer be sold at the park or resort hotel retailers. 

The remaining stock will be shifted to the Shanghai Disney’s official Tmall store. Tmall is an e-commerce platform of Alibaba (9988).

Other series products are available offline, the statement said.
