This voyage marks the debut of the ship following a €200 million upgrade plan over the past five years, providing a revitalised experience for travellers with renovated cabins, restaurants, atrium and entertainment facilities.
Exploring six unique cities
During the 10-day adventure, Costa Serena will guide passengers through six distinct cities. From the bustling market of Taiwan and the laid-back cityscapes of southern Korea, to the natural beauty and western culture of Japan’s Kyushu, the cruise allows guests to immerse themselves in the unique charm of each destination.
The itinerary includes the following cities: Keelung (Taiwan), a gateway to Taipei’s street food, temples and night markets; Jeju (South Korea), renowned for its stunning volcanic landscapes, waterfalls and traditional villages; Busan (South Korea), a vibrant coastal city featuring beaches, seafood markets and modern architecture; Yatsushiro (Japan), offers a glimpse of Kyushu’s cultural heritage and serene coastline; Nagasaki (Japan), a meeting point of Eastern and Western cultures known for its breathtaking harbour and historical landmarks; and Hong Kong.
A fusion of digital arts and modern design
The upgraded Costa Serena presents a fresh aesthetic throughout its public spaces, blending digital art with themes from ancient Greek mythology, all reinterpreted in a contemporary style. The ship boasts a timeless design featuring bold colours, geometric patterns and interactive lighting elements to create a stunning atmosphere.
The Pantheon Atrium rises ten stories high, surrounded by large screens and adorned with luminous 3D-printed cloud installations. Accompanied by lively music, the light projections create immersive visuals of ancient Greece, offering passengers a unique audiovisual experience.
The public areas on deck five have been redesigned to offer a fresh layout, with the Apollo Grand Bar accommodating over 300 guests and transforming into an event space suitable for all ages.
Another highlight is the pool deck, with sleek geometric designs and a glass canopy that lets in natural light, an ideal spot for activities day and night – especially the lively parties not to be missed.

A culinary journey of cross-cultural delights
Costa Serena also introduces a variety of culinary options that meld authentic Italian roots with Asian inspirations. New dining venues include artisanal pizza restaurant Pizzeria Pummid’Oro, renovated sushi bar Sushino@Costa and the flagship restaurant Archipelago.
The two main dining halls, Ceres and Vesta Restaurant, provide buffet and à la carte services at different times. Notably, Pizzeria Pummid’Oro features an eye-catching art installation of a giant tomato held aloft by a golden Atlas, making its authentic Italian pizza a must-try.
Meanwhile, the flagship restaurant Archipelago debuts at Costa Serena with menus curated by star chefs Angel Leon, Hélène Darroze and Bruno Barbieri. Drawing inspiration from the cruise’s destinations, guests can savour regional specialities without leaving the ship.
Accommodations have also received an upgrade with refreshed amenities on selected floors to enhance comfort and choice. The popular Solemio Spa has been revamped to offer a range of wellness treatments, complemented with personalised services.
Future focus on the Asian market
Costa Serena will continue to focus on the Asian market in 2026. Besides this 10-day itinerary, other Asian journeys will be launched from Hong Kong between November 21 and January 30, 2026.
These itineraries will head to Northeast and Southeast Asia, with options for a round-the-Asia cruise covering Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Brunei and the Philippines.
Guests can embark in Japan or Singapore, with cruise durations ranging from 9 to 29 days, tailored to meet travellers’ needs and schedules.
