Henderson Land Development has announced the funeral arrangements for its founder, Lee Shau-kee, who passed away peacefully on March 17 at the age of 97.
The services will commence this Sunday at the Hong Kong Funeral Home, where a private vigil will be held for family members and close associates. The following day, a public memorial will be organized before Lee is transported to his ancestral home in Shunde for burial.
A grand Buddhist altar has been thoughtfully arranged by Lee’s family on the ground floor of the Hong Kong Funeral Home, presided over by Wah Yim Lin She. Since yesterday, April 25, Buddhist monks have been performing chanting ceremonies, which will continue for four consecutive days to honor and commemorate Lee.
During the funeral, if memorial sessions are underway or the funeral parlor becomes overcrowded, staff will guide visitors to a large tented memorial area at the sports playground opposite the funeral home to pay their respects.
The large tented memorial area will be open on the following dates and times:
• April 27, 2025 (Sunday): From 1:30 pm to 7 pm
• April 28, 2025 (Monday): From 9 am to 1 pm
