KeeTa, a sister mobile app of China's delivery service giant Meituan (3690), is due to launch a takeaway service in Hong Kong today.
Starting 9am, users can choose either food delivery or in-store pickup services when placing an order.
KeeTa said more than 80 percent of the merchants on its platform are offering the new pickup service.
Meanwhile, KeeTa has launched a campaign promoting restaurants on its platform offering self-takeaway discounts.
KeeTa rose to be Hong Kong's second-largest food delivery platform in December, securing 37 percent of the local food delivery market, according to data from Measurable AI, a Hong Kong-based firm tracking business receipts.
Delivery Hero's Foodpanda came in the first at 42 percent and Deliveroo in the third at 20 percent, according to the data.
