China to impose additional tariffs of 55pc on some beef imports from 2026

China will impose additional tariffs of 55 percent on beef imports from some countries including Brazil and the U.S., when shipment amounts exceed certain quotas, the commerce ministry announced on Wednesday.

The measures will take effect on January 1, 2026, for three years.
