Cathay Pacific and HK Express carried a combined total of more than 3.2 million passengers last month, up by 30 percent from a year ago, Cathay Pacific Airways (0293) said.
Cathay expects the Hong Kong flagship carrier Cathay Pacific maintains robust bookings for the Christmas travel season, while budget airline HK Express is closely monitoring travel demand to Japan.
Cathay Pacific carried 29 percent more passengers to nearly 2.6 million in October, bringing the total passengers number in the first 10 months of the year to 23.6 million, up by 27.1 percent from a year ago.
HK Express carried more than 683,476 passengers in the month, an increase of 31.9 percent year-on-year.
In the first 10 months of 2025, the number of passengers carried increased by 30.7 percent compared with the same period for 2024.
On the cargo front, Cathay Cargo carried 6.4 percent more cargo last month than a year ago.
Looking ahead, Cathay anticipates robust inbound traffic from North America, the UK and Europe during the Christmas travel season, while expecting strong air cargo demand with high load factors on key routes for the remainder of the peak period.
