China's budget e-commerce giant PDD gave gold products of up to 100 grams to employees to celebrate its 10th anniversary despite the higher gold prices, mainland media reported.
Based on the employment time, staff will be offered different weights of gold gifts, the report said.
Senior employees who have worked for 10 years will receive a gold brick weighing 100 grams, representing an increase of 40 grams from the previous year.
Besides, staff who have been employed for at least three years will get a gold ring weighing 4 grams, while the weight of the gold rings will be increased to 11 grams for those who have at least five years of working experience.
Citing the trading price of gold bullion of 0.9999 fineness at HK$10,279 per 10 grams on the platform of Bank of China (Hong Kong) (2388), the 100-gram gold brick is worth more than HK$100,000.
Though the gold prices went down in recent days due to easing Sino-China trade relations and expected interest rate cuts, spot gold still stands over US$4,000 (HK$31,080) per ounce.
