Wall Street opens higher on jobs data optimism; Tesla rebounds

US stock indexes opened higher on Friday after a strong jobs report calmed worries over the health of the labor market, while Tesla shares rebounded on signs of cooling tensions between chief executive Elon Musk and US President Donald Trump.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 312.1 points, or 0.74 percent, at the open to 42631.82. The S&P 500 rose 47.8 points, or 0.80 percent, to 5987.06, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 228.5 points, or 1.18 percent, to 19526.994.
