Actors take on senior roles at TVB

Television Broadcasts (0511) has appointed two actors in senior management positions.

Eric Tsang Chi-wai will be TVB's deputy general manager and special advisor to the executive committee while Wong Cho-lam will be the chief creative officer, effective yesterday, chairman Thomas Hui To said in an internal e-mail.

Tsang, who joined TVB in 1992, will responsible for the variety show and infotainment program segment. Wong will assist Tsang and also be responsible for cross-platform development, drawing on his experience in mainland China.

Hui said the artists will provide new ideas for variety shows, assist in the expansion of cooperation with Hong Kong's film and television industry, help promote business in mainland China, the Greater Bay Area and the international Chinese market, and strengthen cross-platform new media business.

TVB's shares were barely unchanged at HK$7.9.
