Emperor International (0163) will work with China Resources Power (0836) to pilot their first sustainability project at a shopping mall in Fo Tan, with about 180 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions expected to be slashed.
Emperor announced that it will collaborate with the Chinese state-owned enterprise to develop solar energy, marking the first renewable energy project developed by China Resources Power in cooperation with a local developer.
With Sui Wo Court Commercial Center in Fo Tan as the first piloting project, over 200 solar panels will be installed on the rooftop of the shopping mall. The system is projected to generate 170,000 kWh of electricity annually, which is equivalent to the annual electricity generation of more than 50 local households.
It is estimated to slash at least 180 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually, contributing to the sustainable development of the shopping mall.
