1.08-metre-tall Guangxi graduate lands Shenzhen job after height rejections

A university graduate from Guangxi with a rare genetic condition that left him at 1.08 metres tall has finally found a job in Shenzhen after numerous rejections, with his new employer saying appearance is not a measure of ability.

The man, known online as "Cici Beixin," graduated this year and faced repeated setbacks as companies withdrew interview offers upon learning of his height.

He was eventually hired by Shenzhen Xinmingtian Signs Company. Chairman Mr Zhan said he values inner drive over physical appearance, adding that the employee is "the first to arrive and the last to leave, working even harder than most," and rated him above 90 out of 100.

"Many companies turned me down because of my height. When I spoke to my current boss, I was nervous, but he encouraged me and said my physical condition doesn't matter as long as I can do the job," Cici Beixin said.

He also runs a social media account sharing styling tips for people with similar conditions.
