The disaster occurred shortly before 6pm on July 4 in Shenzu Gully, Badi Town, located in the Garzê Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, following intense rainfall.
Thanks to precautionary measures, all 133 residents from 63 households in two Shenzu villages had been evacuated before the landslide hit. No casualties have been reported.
Local officials immediately activated a Level IV emergency response, the lowest in China's four-tier system, and dispatched rescue teams to the area. All evacuated residents have been temporarily relocated to safe shelters.
Authorities are currently assessing the extent of the damage.
