132 new virus patients take Singapore tally to 54,929

Singapore reported 132 new coronavirus patients as of noon on Saturday, including one in the community and six imported infections. This brings the total number of cases in the country to 54,929, Channel News Asia reports.

The community infection is a Singaporean, the Ministry of Health said in its preliminary daily update.

All the imported cases had been placed on stay-home notice upon arrival in Singapore, the ministry added. 

The vast majority of the new infections are work permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories.
