The New Year’s Eve Concert organized by NEW TV will feature singers including Kwok, George Lam Tse-cheung , Hacken Lee, Vivian Chow Wai-man, The Grasshopper, Alex To Duk-wai, Richie Jen Hsien-chi, Hana Kuk Tsz-kiu, Vincy Chan, Supper Moment, Mike Tsang and Jace Chan.
The organizer said that various industries in Hong Kong have been greatly affected due to the pandemic. Part of the revenue will go to Hong Kong Live Performance and Production Industry Association, to support veterans who are struggling.
"The concert will help those in the sector to resume work gradually," the organizer said
It also said it would sponsor 1,000 tickets to low-income and underprivileged families.
The concert is scheduled at Central Harbourfront Event Space from 9.30 pm on New Year's Eve to 12.15 am on New Year's Day.
Asked if the concert is competing with the countdown show organized by Hong Kong Tourism Board featuring the boy band Mirror, the organizer said that a similar event had been held the previous year.
It also said that the number of drones has been reduced from 1,000 to 600 this year to ensure safety of the audience. It has undergone several tests to prevent drones from falling down.
The organizer will also launch a lucky draw with prizes totaling HK$490,000 for those who join the concert.
The first prize is a Tesla Model 3 Electric car. Details of the lucky draw can be found here
