On Monday, a resident reported the case after discovering foul-smelling blood dripping from her ceiling. Police arriving at the upstairs unit found the male deceased already skeletonized in a bedroom, while the female victim lay in the living room. Based on decomposition states, authorities believe the father died approximately one month earlier than his daughter.
Neighbors described the reclusive pair who rarely interacted with others, particularly after the wife/mother passed away several years earlier. The daughter, identified as Xu Na, held a PhD from Cambridge University and had worked as a researcher in France.
A former National University of Singapore classmate recalled Xu Na as polite, intelligent, and introverted, noting they had participated in Chinese society activities and played table tennis together.
Singapore police continue investigating the case details and circumstances surrounding both deaths.
