Coleman Wong misses doubles final after partner's injury at HK Open

Hong Kong's top tennis player Coleman Wong missed a chance at the doubles final at the Hong Kong Open after his Canadian partner Gabriel Diallo withdrew due to injury on Thursday.

Wong, 19, had made history by reaching the ATP Tour 250 series men's doubles semifinals with Diallo. Their "Wong-Diallo" pair fought for over 109 minutes in the quarterfinals to advance.

But Diallo's injury forced them to withdraw. Under tournament rules, their scheduled semifinal opponents, Italians Lorenzo Musetti and Lorenzo Sonego, advance directly to the final.

Wong will now focus on the men's singles semifinal on Friday, where he faces top seed and world No.7 Lorenzo Musetti.
