Hisense Group, the parent of Hisense Home Appliances (0921) is to lay off 20 to 30 percent of staff, equivalent to about 30,000 people, according to reports.One of the school recruitment employees said, "I have received a layoff notice, the company mainly lays off fresh graduates and other new recruits, and I am currently communicating with the firm because of objections to the offered amount of compensation."
An insider said that the layoff list will be decided next week and will be done in two waves, before and after the Chinese New Year next year.

Simultaneously, an employee from the group's subsidiary said, "Many people have already been notified."
While another in-service Hisense employee said, "The online news is too exaggerated, and the specific number of layoffs may not be so much, but this year the number of orders the company received are smaller than in previous years."
The leading brand in global consumer electronics and home appliances was once reported to have 10,000 layoffs at the beginning of 2020. At that time, Hisense confirmed there were layoffs but denied the number reached 10,000.
