China's locally-made 30000 Miles From Chang'an has become the highest-grossing animated film in the country this year and the fourth highest earner among all animated films in the mainland.

By yesterday, the film had taken about 1.5 billion yuan (HK$1.63 billion) at the box office since its launch on July 8, emerging as this summer's dark horse.
30000 Miles From Chang'an also surpassed Boonie Bears: Guardian Code to become the fourth biggest winner at the box office among all animated films in China.
The film, portraying the rise and fall of Chang'an, the capital of the Tang Dynasty, features a total of 48 poems created in that period, including masterpieces written by Li Bai, Gao Shi, Du Fu and other poets.
It also aroused a heated discussion on Chinese poetry on mainland social media.
On July 14, the box office in mainland China this year had exceeded 30 billion yuan and surpassed the full-year figure for 2022.
