Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs Alice Mak Mei-kuen called for closer collaboration between district organizations to enhance service for citizens.
The remarks came during a lawmakers' district office opening ceremony on Sunday, where Mak expressed confidence that the new base would help connect district councilors, the District Services and Community Care Teams (Care Teams), and three key committees.
She urged lawmakers to “be present, be welcoming, and be the voice of the public” to build a happy neighborhood.
Citing eight female directors in the current governing team and a female Legislative Council president, she highlighted the city's progress in women's services.
Mak also encouraged women to step up in their communities, helping residents live and work in peace.
